The Crafting of Exams
With 35 years of experience, Examcraft is now the leading provider of mock examinations and correction services to secondary schools. Our mock exam team consists of more than 180 setters, proofers and editors involved in creating the highest-quality Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate mock exam papers, and over 1,000 registered correctors. But where did it all begin?
Examcraft was born, believe it or not, from the boot of a car. Yes, you read that right! Back in the days before online corrections and postal tracking, exam papers were delivered to schools by an Examcraft team of three.
Philip O’ Callaghan, a former secondary school teacher and now MD of the Examcraft Group, acquired the company in 1988 and began operating from City West. As the business grew, the operation moved to Cabra and later to its current location in Glasnevin.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to provide you with the highest-quality and widest choice of exam papers and the most efficient correction service.
We are committed to the process of continuous improvement with the overall aim of delivering a mock exam cycle that prepares your students for their state exams. We work with the most experienced teachers to ensure that both our exams and our corrections are of the highest standard and that all papers are closely aligned with the SEC format. We offer the largest range of subjects in the market, providing papers in all major subjects so you only have to deal with one supplier.
Helping You Through the Process
Our experienced customer service team assigns a dedicated account manager to your school, who will be on hand to provide any support needed.
We pride ourselves on efficiency, with next-day delivery couriers to ensure you receive your papers and corrections on time, every time. We have systems in place to deliver, track, and monitor your papers and scripts, again ensuring an outstanding service.
The Integrity of the Exams
While not always 100% possible to prevent, we have safeguards in place to stop the leakage of mock exam papers. In recent years, we have adopted the following measures to help curtail exam papers being shared on social media:
- Two exam paper options in 12 subjects, which reduces the chances a student will have seen the paper they sit.
- We set a mock exam start date each year, which means all schools sit their mock exams within a three-week window. This again limits the potential for social sharing of exams.
