Second paper in 12 subjects
In recent years, we made the decision to invest in publishing additional mock exam papers. Having two papers significantly reduces the chance a student will have seen the paper they sit.
Schools can choose from two paper options for the following subjects: Maths, English, Irish, French, History, Geography and Business Studies at Junior Cycle and Maths, English, Irish and Biology at Leaving Cert.
Mock Exam Start date
January 27th 2025
We set a mock exam start date each year. This year, schools are asked to schedule their mock exam timetable from January 27th.
Having an agreed start date means all schools sit their mock exams within a three-week window. This along with additional LC papers limits the potential of social sharing of exams.
Junior Cycle Online Corrections (10% discount)
We are committed to the process of continuous improvement, with the overall aim of delivering a mock exam cycle that prepares your students for their exams. Two areas for improvement that are regularly highlighted by you, our customer, are higher-quality corrections and a faster turnaround of papers.
We believe the only way to achieve this is through an online process that facilitates autochecks on correction quality and eliminates the need for papers to be sent to correctors and back to Examcraft to be delivered to schools.
Online corrections offer schools far more benefits than the paper-based process of marking scripts, including:
Improved quality of corrections, with built-in autochecks that ensure correctors are marking to an agreed standard.
Significantly reducing the time frame for students receiving their results.
Eliminating any potential for papers being lost in transit, while reducing your school's carbon footprint.
Giving teachers an overview of their class results and students’ scripts, with the added benefit of having this information to hand in a matter of seconds.
Supporting student progress: scripts can be shared in class on screen, allowing teachers to provide individual and whole-class feedback to move learning forward.
Teacher dashboards allow teachers to accurately analyse students' results across each question, with improved reporting and capabilities to compare class averages per question and paper.
The Online Corrections Process
Once teachers and students are registered for online corrections, the system and process is designed to make life easier for the mock exam secretary. Exam paper envelopes will be sent to Examcraft, as always, where they will be scanned and uploaded online.
The papers are corrected online and when they are marked, mock exam secretaries and teachers will be notified by email to view the scripts and approve the student's results. Once approved, students will be able to view their scripts and the marks received for each question.
